On October 28, 2025, Shanghai Sinyang Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. ushered in a milestone moment in its development history—the official groundbreaking of the 50,000-ton/year key IC process materials project, along with the construction of its headquarters and R&D center. Anchored in serving national strategies, the project is committed to building a world-class integrated circuit materials base driven by independent innovation. With a planned investment of 1.85 billion yuan and a site area of 128 mu, it is scheduled to start production in November 2027 and reach full capacity by 2032.

Upon the completion and full operation of Phase I, the project will achieve an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of key IC process materials, covering: 5,000 tons/year of ultra-pure chip cleaning solution series, 6,500 tons/year of ultra-pure chip electroplating solution series, 33,500 tons/year of ultra-pure chip etching solution series, and 5,000 tons/year of chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) slurry series. The headquarters will integrate the functions of R&D center, operation center, settlement center, logistics center and training center. The R&D center will be built into a world-leading R&D and innovation platform for integrated circuit materials.

Over the past two decades since its establishment, Shanghai Sinyang has been dedicated to the R&D and industrialization of semiconductor functional process materials. It has successfully achieved breakthroughs and mass production in five core technologies: electronic electroplating, electronic cleaning, electronic etching, electronic lithography and electronic polishing—all filling domestic gaps and realizing import substitution. Currently, the company has become the benchmark material supplier for more than 70% of 12-inch wafer production lines in China, playing an increasingly critical role in the integrated circuit industry chain. As its industry status and market influence continue to rise, the company has faced the practical challenge of insufficient production capacity in the past two years. The launch of this project is a proactive response to the needs of industrial development and a pillar for the company’s high-quality development in the next phase.
